Notice how every single frame of this scene is better than the entirety of The Last Jedi.

This battle, though a total fantasy, is so much more interesting and engaging than the pointless, nonsensical CGI clutter of the prequels and the Disney reboots. I love how the armour on an Imperial AT-AT becomes vulnerable to Rebel SnowSpeeder blaster fire as soon as the AT-AT falls forward on it's legs. LOL. As a kid you could have never convinced me that Ian was only 38 when this was shot. By this point, Vader knows Luke's last name, knows he comes from Tatooine, knows Obi-wan trained him and (according to the new comics) gave Luke the lightsaber taken from Mustafar, and Vader has likely guessed at Luke's age. Vader's not stupid. I think he put it together himself and feigned ignorance to the Emperor. Or else, when he asked 'how is that possible' he was referring, not to the fact that Luke's alive, but to the fact that the Emperor put all of this together, too. It just doesn't make sense otherwise.

It never escapes me how C-3PO can express and emote SO MUCH despite having a face that never changes. He even does it without speaking. It just blows me away.

 

1:53 By a great asset he means a good replacement for a second in command. he figures Vader starting to get old, and Luke could be more powerful, so he'll get rid of Vader and take on a Luke instead. in other words Anakin sky walker replacing count dooku all over again. supreme leaders and smokers are kind of like jerk boyfriends in this series, tossing you aside after who knows how long for someone younger and more powerful.

Some men just want to watch the world burn. I love that hologram flickering out of existance. Great touch of dark comedy, especially fun how entirely uninterested Vader is. 6:42 Is one of the most pivotal scenes for me as a kid. Just seeing that speeder hopelessly try to take down that AT AT only to get shot down without mercy cemented the empire as an actual threat and competent military force which made me fear and respect them and they didn't even have Vader in the front lines. This is what it is like when I pick up my father from the airport. P. I can tell this was filmed like 30 years ago just by the CGI. Your wife concerns me with all of the things she says. This was the worst part of the series. The acting was not very good and Harrison Ford seemed to really hate this one, or maybe he just did not have many good lines in the script. The acting was not as bad as to how boring this movie was. The Beginning and Ending were the best parts in the movie. The whole middle of the movie was completely boring. Yoda was the best character in the movie. Attack of the Clones was better than Empire Strikes Back, but that had its problems too.
I gave this movie an 8/10. The only reason i give it an eight was bcause of the beginning and ending. If those werent good i would have given it a 7 or possibly a 6.

He's Han F'ing Solo he does what he wants... One of the greatest films of all time. And so began Darth Vader's redemption. Once he learned that he had a son, he knew he had another purpose in life, aside from simply serving his master. Please do reaction s to the Lord of the rings films after doing the star wars films. So much amazing action and beautiful cinematography makes for such an enlightening experience! In The Empire Strikes Back you know who everyone is which is great plus Yoda is introduced! I love this movie the music is soothing, there's romance, more of Darth Vader, and introduces Emperor Palpatine what more can you ask for? A lot to relish and get excited about; it's such a classic gem.

Rip to the real G dack. I love how seamlessly Vaders theme transitions into the Emperors. Dude i never noticed the There is another, with the red light on yoda's face maybe being a foreshadow, Makes me apreciate the movie even more then i already did :P Thanks for that. Sith RULE the school. I like this scene as it shows vader kinda trying to protect Luke without upsetting his master or showing he has a weakness, Luke. First with he's just a boy (as in don't worry about him or just forget about him. then well let's try to turn him (cuz he doesn't want to kill him. Anything to avoid killing him. One of my favs...

The Empire Strikes Back is a bit more improved from the original.
First, the writing. The writing in A New Hope really needed a polish, but it really is pretty good here, though nothing Oscar-calibar. Also we get to see the great Yoda here, which he was absent in A New Hope.
Second, the acting. Mark Hamill is better here than he was in A New Hope, probably because he is in more dangerous situations than he was in A New Hope. I think this is because in the original and ROTJ, Hamill was pretty bland and flat unless if he was in a real turning point or in danger, which was pretty scarce in those films except when he found his aunt and uncle dead, or a couple of other situations I forget. Carrie Fisher isn't as semi-wooden here either, she is actually quite good.
Thridly, the effects look more polished. In the original they looked cheesy at best, but here, they look more smooth and real, except for the creatures at the beginning of the film were Luke was stranded. But the lightsabres look better, the sound effects are smoother, and is more pleasing.
Fourthly, the plot is more devolped. The plot in the original felt like it was stolen from a medival fairy tale with princesses, here, it shows more of The Dark Side, the characters are more devolped, the suspence is better, and the events are more layered.
Overall, this is great polish-up from A New Hope. One gripe though would have to be how the irony from the original lacks here, but it is still a great film.
9/10.

One of my favorites... Performance by Joker (Heath Ledger) is incredible...
